Dandilion beginings

Hello,
I am in the middle of dyeing some yarn with DANDILIONS and then remembered how long it has been since I have updated my blog! The photograph above is from an art instalation of mine from last semester, I will post more soon.

Sculpture class - working with nature

So last semester I spend a lot of time gathering leaves for one of my ideas. It acctually turned out quite well.. The project was 'becoming animal' and we went to the zoo and everything. Here are some pictures of what I made:

My bird had a plaster shell, now covered over in leaves

I used a bunch of different kinds of leaves, all from my neighborhood


He was a big hit!

I first made a wire frame, and covered it with plaster to make a thin shell. I then glued leaves over every part, the longest feaher like ones for the wings, and then small wire-y ones for just under his beak. I think he turned out fabulously, and he got a lot of compliments! What do you all think? He now permanently resides in my dad's study :)
